Bliing it on! Ladies Networking

You could be mistaken into thinking that the ‘BLIING’ gathering is all about glitz and glamour.  But this monthly gathering of Brisbane ladies is much more than that.

BLIING (Brisbane Ladies Ideas Information Networking Group) provides an opportunity for like-minded women to gather together over high tea to discuss topics of interest in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

‘In this hectic, fast paced world, it can be difficult to find time to discuss things that are important to us as women but BLIING is a great forum to develop and maintain friendships, all while having a bit of fun,’ says Simone, owner of Queenie’s Traditional Tea House.

From presentations from politicians to tea appreciation, these are just some of the topics covered at these monthly gatherings.

BLIING meets at Queenies Traditional Tea House and is always looking to welcome new members.  The next gathering is on 19th June 10-12pm.  Cost is $35 and can be booked by phoning 3266 6632.  Check out the Queenie’s website and Facebook page for more information on the BLIINGgatherings.

Fresh is Best at the Markets

There’s nothing better than starting your Sunday morning with freshly roasted coffee and breakfast at the Nundah Farmers Markets. While you are there, you can stock up on your weekly fresh produce including gourmet meats, fresh seafood, local prawns, herbs & spices and farm fresh eggs.

‘My Sweet Lady’ is stocked full of sweet treats. Their philosophy is based on baking good old fashioned recipes coupled with quality ingredients, love and care. Each week you’ll find something different at this stall but the Red Velvet Cupcakes are a hit amongst many market goers.

An Emporium of Treasures in the Heart of Nundah Village!

Established in Nundah for nine years, PandaPearls is a treasure trove for collectors and those who appreciate beautiful things.

Owner Amanda Stein chose Nundah for her flagship store due to its proximity to Brisbane Airport, CBD and access to pretty much everything you need at your doorstep. ‘It’s been great to see the investment by Circa Nundah and other businesses and see their vision that is now coming to fruition!’

PandaPearls Australia prides itself on being a ‘one stop pearl shop’ with beautiful pearls sourced from around the world. From an Australian south sea strand through to gorgeous baroque pearls and our now ‘famous triple twist’, PandaPearls has something for every budget and every taste.

A huge aspect of Amanda’s business has been her passion for antique jewellery and ability to team it with gorgeous, matching pearl strands.

The establishment of the ‘Sidewalk Sunday’ was a simple idea of inviting similar minded people to display quality ‘bespoke’ items for sale on a Sunday outside PandaPearls with site fees, sausage sizzle, raffle prizes and donations going directly to the cause of choice. From the Geebung Special School, Cancer Council, RSPCA…this month, LEGACY has been chosen with the Sidewalk Sunday falling on 28 April just after ANZAC Day

Lift off with a healthy change

Spread you wings this winter and take flight with a healthy lifestyle renovation. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle or committing to one comes as a package deal. Diet + Exercise = Results. Simple.

People can do pretty well with one or the other but it is the combination that proves most valuable in reaching the goals typical of the average person.

If you are looking to renovate your routine and make progress you don’t have to exercise from the rooster’s crow to the cows coming home. There are two parts in the equation.

The first is variation in your exercise regime. Muscle memory can stop you from losing weight, growing muscle and staying motivated. The human body can adapt to particular movements. Change then becomes the catalyst in sparking the body to producing larger volumes of various hormones that promote weight loss and muscle growth. Throwing in a new group fitness class every month or having a PT run through new exercises and training programs can lift you to new levels while keeping hard work interesting for you.

Eating clean is the second part of seeing fast results and possibly the most important change. Man was made tall and strong from eating raw from the land.

Our weight gain is not surprisingly due to the body’s slow adaptation to a rapid evolution of processed food in our diets. To adopt a clean eating approach cut out sugars, reduce carbohydrates and eat smaller portions, especially if you have a desk job.
