With a rich history spanning over 30 years, Clayfield Jewellery is leading the way in the latest technology in the jewellery industry.
After moving from Clayfield to Nundah Village in 2007, owner Trevor Sim created a boutique which not only offers a wide range of jewellery pieces, but also an onsite jewellery workshop that uses the latest 3D technology.
“Our team is constantly researching and embracing the latest technologies available in the industry, including laser welding, CAD design, 3D printing, 3D scanning and x-ray for analysing precious metal,” says Trevor.
These new technologies allow the team to create clients’ pieces in the CAD and print a live 3D prototype.
“Letting the client see a 3D print of their design removes the anxiety and uncertainty of how a piece will look,” says Trevor. “In the ‘old days’ (which were not so long ago), we went straight from sketch to making the piece, relying on the communication with the client in sharing their ideas.“
