Urban Sketchers in Nundah
Nundah Village enjoyed a visit from over twenty sketchers, who captured Nundah businesses and landscapes through on-location drawing.
Urban Sketchers is an international group that uses drawing to connect people around the world.
The Brisbane group meets each weekend in a different location to capture the area using a variety of mediums, including watercolour, acrylics, graphite pencil or charcoal.
Recently, the group visited Nundah Village, to sketch the local area and to hold a gallery outside Nundah Corner, which displayed recent artworks from the group.
Alan Innes, who organised the Nundah event, said that Nundah Village is an interesting location to sketch.
“Nundah Village is a lovely urban setting due to its winding sloping road, the unusual intersections and the landscape. It has a pleasant variety of old and new buildings. All in all, a good place to go sketching,” says Alan.
“I’m sure we’ll be back!”
