Banyo’s Triple Eight Race Engineering Team prepare for Bathurst 1000
Triple Eight Race Engineering is one of the most successful teams in Australian Motor Sport and is the only V8 Supercar team to call Brisbane home.
Based in Banyo, Triple Eight Race Engineering, home to Red Bull Holden Racing, has had great success since forming in 2003, winning the Supercars Championship eight times and the Bathurst 1000 seven times.
Currently working with race drivers Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen, the team is already preparing for the biggest and most high-profile event on the motors sports calendar – the Bathurst 1000.
Held in October, Bathurst 1000 is watched around the world by fans, racing teams and racing drivers.
Being the only Brisbane-based V8 Supercar team does come with its challenges.
“The main challenges we face being based in Brisbane are logistics. The first six races are all down south,” says Mark Dutton, Team Manager of Triple Eight Race Engineering.
“As a result we are faced with a lot more travel than other teams, most of which are based in Victoria. But, the advantage of living in Brisbane is the weather – who wouldn’t want to live in Brisbane?”
